WALLS AND CEILINGS
Products intended for painting and protecting mineral surfaces: WALLS and CEILINGS made of cement, cement-lime or gypsum plasterwork, plasterboard, brick, concrete surfaces, stone, Belgian blocks, etc.
EMULSION PAINTS
Mineral surfaces are usually painted with emulsion paints that create a protective-decorative coat on their surface. The produced coat is matt, porous and penetrable for vapours and gasses, this enables the so-called breathing of walls. Depending on the type of paint, the painted walls – if they become dirty – can be washed with water and detergents, for example, without damaging the paint coat and making it necessary to repaint the wall.
Decorative emulsion paints for indoor use are divided into three groups: paints resistant to dry abrasion (type III as per Polish Standard 81914:2002) paints resistant to wet abrasion (type II as per the above Polish Standard) and paints resistant to wet scrubbing (type I as per the above Polish Standard). The group of paints resistant to dry abrasion includes:
ULTRA WHITE – extremely white paint at an affordable price,
ŚNIEŻKA EKO – popular paint with good abrasion resistance, excellent value for money.
The group of paints resistant to wet abrasion includes:
ŚNIEŻKA MAX – strong coating and efficient acrylic emulsion in a fashionable range of colours.
The group of paints resistant to wet scrubbing includes:
PALTINIUM – excellent emulsion that produces highly durable and decorative coats.
SPECIAL USE PAINTS:
A group of products specially modified to easily and durably prepare and finish painted surfaces. This group consists of:
ŚNIEŻKA KITCHEN AND BATHROOM acrylic emulsion with added silicone for humid rooms (kitchens, bathrooms, cellars). It also contains special agents preventing the development of any types of fungi or mould on walls and ceilings. Resistant to multiple washing – meets the requirements for Type I products as per Polish Standards.
ŚNIEZKA PRIMER latex emulsion primer for the first coat of newly plastered walls, especially walls made of plasterboard. Thanks to the specially designed composition it makes the painted surfaces uniform and compensates for its absorbability, which is very important when applying the first coat, especially onto surfaces prepared using surfacer compounds.
ŚNIEŻKA FOR RUN MARKS AND STAINS is a special acrylic paint for painting difficult stains and surfaces. Unlike other paints for painting walls this paint uses odourless painter’s naphtha as the solvent. Thanks to the PLIOWAY® resin used for manufacturing this paint even just one coat covers all water run, nicotine and soot stains or unknown types of paint coats made with glue paints, for example. ŚNIEŻKA FOR RUN MARKS AND STAINS can also be used as a base coat for other paints.
ŚNIEZKA CONCRETE FLOOR - acrylic paint for protecting concrete surfaces, such as floors in garages. Produces coats highly resistant to abrasion and atmospheric conditions. Assures aesthetic appearance of painted floors and facilitates keeping them clean.
FACADE EMULSION PAINTS
The emulsion facade paints for painting outdoor walls create a separate group consisting of:
FACADE ULTRA WHITE- snow-white acrylic paint resistant to atmospheric conditions
ŚNIEŻKA EXTRA FACADE PAINT - emulsion paint for painting facades and indoor surfaces of the building. Available in white and other ready colours.
PUTTY COMPOUNDS
Usually when preparing walls for painting, there is a necessity to even them, fill cavities, etc. Putty compounds can be used for this: ACRYL PUTZ start that must be mixed by the user and ready ACRYL PUTZ finish. In case of large depressions or joining plasterboards use ACRYL-PUTZ start. Does not crack even when applying thick layers in single cavities (up to 3 cm). ACRYL PUTZ finish can be successfully used as the finishing layer, due to the small grain size and white colour of the surfaces produced. Use ACRYL PUTZ facade putty manufactured on a base of white cement for outdoor surfaces. All putty compounds are easy to apply and smooth (do not “clog” the abrasive paper or mesh). Once dry and rubbed down they produce smooth and easy-to-paint surfaces.
PREPARATIONS, PROTECTIVE AGENTS AND OTHER ADDITIVES FOR PAINTS
When painting indoor and outdoor walls pay close attention to proper surface preparation. A necessary part of this stage is reinforcing a weak base surface using SUPER DOM IMPREGNTATING-REINFORCING PRIMING COMPOUND, which penetrates deeply into porous, absorbent and loosely bound layers, binds them and increases the top coat adhesion. It is also recommended for highly-absorbent cement-lime plasterwork or cellular concrete. It reduces the fast absorption of water from paint or putty, assuring proper drying conditions for these products.
To protect porous concrete, stone surfaces (made of sandstone, for example) against absorption of humidity and erosion due to frost, use SUPER DOM (Uni Fasada) FACADE IMPREGNATING COMPOUND that assures strong hydrophobic properties for the surface. The impregnating compound does not change the colour of the impregnated surface.
SUPER DOM (Uni Bruk) BELGIAN BLOCK IMPREGNATING COMPOUND is a product with similar properties. It assures partial hydrophobic properties for the surface and protects it against excessive humidity penetration. Additionally it strengthens the block colour, which is especially visible in case of coloured blocks. It also partially seals the block pores protecting the surface against abrasion and contamination penetration, thus rendering the coated surfaces less prone to becoming dirty.
If the Belgian block has been contaminated, for example because of an oil leak from an engine, the blocks can be cleaned using SUPER DOM OIL STAIN REMOVER.
For painting indoor walls periodically or continuously exposed to humidity use specially designed emulsion paint. In case of a fungal attack that has already taken place, clean such surface mechanically, then use SUPER DOM (PUMA) FUNGICIDAL IMPREGNATING COMPOUND, which deeply penetrates into wall pores and destroys all bacteria and fungi developing on the walls. To obtain similar anti-fungi protection on indoor and outdoor mineral surfaces, you can also use another type of emulsion paint (colour, facade paint) and modify it with SUPER DOM (PUMA max) FUNGICIDAL ADDITIVE. Remember that the most common cause of fungal attack on walls and ceilings is inadequate ventilation.
COLOURING PASTES
Apart from paints available in ready colour schemes according to a colouring system, a coloured product can also be obtained by using colouring pastes.
This can be done using the COLOUREX pigment concentrate manufactured in 28 basic colours, that can be freely mixed with each other. This product is used for colouring ready water soluble and solvent based emulsion, oil-phthalic, nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, etc. paints for indoor use.
Use COLOUREX Fasada for colouring facade walls or acrylic plasters for thermal insulation systems and other outdoor applications.
